About Y. Studio

With a 20-year career in architecture, HongYing (May) Tan became a full-time ceramicist in 2022, dedicating herself to exploring the language of architecture through clay - evoking poetry in form and texture. Her work also celebrates the unique translucency of hard porcelain, using light to reveal its quiet brilliance and create innovative, glowing sculptural pieces.

She also collaborates with her cousin, sculptor Z. L. Liu, to design and create contemporary ceramic sculptural vessels that blend elegance with playful character to bring joy and relaxation to daily lives.
